Best Thai Restaurant in the SF Bay Area

It's my mom's birthday today and we took her out to eat at our favorite Thai restaurant, Wat Phou in Concord. We've been going there for every birthday and every occasion for as long as I can remember. In fact, I think I spent my sixth birthday there. We were originally going to go to Chuck E Cheese, but it was closed. I wasn't too disappointed though. Instead, we went to eat at Wat Phou.

Being big fans of thai food, my family and I have been all over the Bay Area in search of the best thai restaurant. After years of trying new places here and there, Wat Phou remains king of them all. They are very generous with their portions. A lot of other places are skimpy with servings and try to hide it by putting a lot of lettuce leaves or garnishes on the plate to distract you from the fact that you're paying $15 for a sliver of pork. But at Wat Phou you can always trust that you're getting your money's worth.

The food is delicious and affordable, plus the service is fabulous. We've been going there for over ten years and the staff there know us well. We always get the same table in the same corner, and usually order the same thing. We don't even need menus to know what we want.

I highly recommend the Gang Ka Lee (chicken in yellow curry), the fried calamari, and the Mu Yung Pork. The pad thai is also fabulous. Also, make sure to try their thai iced tea.

So if you're ever in the Bay Area looking for a great place to eat, check out:
